ArchitEx will begin tomorrow at St George’s Hall in a two-day conference and exhibition with some of the industry’s leading names attending.
An expected 1,500 professionals will gather at the Grade I-listed building with 25 speakers including Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) North West chair, Mick Goode, who will discuss designing the Northern Powerhouse.
Liverpool Vision and Liverpool City Council will open and give the first speeches of ArchitEx with Max Steinberg CBE, chief executive of the council, discussing the design and building of the city’s future.
The showcase will also feature key-note speeches from Professor Bob Sheil, director of the Bartlett School of Architecture; Tom Bloxham MBE, chairman and co-founder of Urban Splash; and Gavin Elliott, director of architecture and head of the Manchester studio of BDP.
In attendance will also be the 2014 and 2015 RIBA Stirling Prize winners, Deborah Aydon, executive director of 2014 winner, The Everyman Theatre; and Paul Monaghan director of Alfred Hall Monaghan Morris which was behind the 2015 winner – the Burntwood School.
