Aurora Stockport marks opening with new deal

Residents, businesses, councillors and guests gathered to celebrate the opening of Aurora Stockport, as it was announced two units have been sold.

The new 145,000 sq ft council-funded industrial park on Gorsey Bank Road is now 83% let or under offer.

Aeroco Group, which recently agreed a 15-year lease on two units, now has an extra two units under offer.

A multi-million pound investment from Stockport Council’s has turned a once derelict 18-acre site into a 145,000 sq ft industrial park which is home to 10 industrial units, a riverside park and walking routes into the town centre.

Councillor Alex Ganotis (leader of Stockport Council) and Cllr Kate Butler are joined by representatives from the Aurora Stockport tenants, Seddon Construction and Stockport Council to celebrate the opening of the new industrial park.

Councillor Kate Butler, cabinet member for economy and regeneration at Stockport Council, says: “Aurora Stockport and its success so far is amazing.

“A once abandoned part of our town has been transformed into a vibrant employment areas bringing new businesses, jobs and opportunities to Stockport.

“Seizing the opportunities like those offered at Aurora, to continue to build a strong future for our town and residents is at the heart of the investments we’re making in Stockport at the moment.”

CBRE has been appointed as sole agent for the scheme.
