Boutique gym franchise Fitness Space has agreed a 15-year lease for 6,300 sq ft at No.1 Deansgate in Manchester.
The company, which has 29 branches across the UK, was founded by Olympic 400-metre semi-finalist Tim Benjamin.
The fitness operator has chosen an underused shell space at the prominent mixed-use development for its first Manchester site.
Planning consent was secured earlier this year and Fitness Space is currently fitting out the gym with an opening expected in the new year.
Welsh-born Benjamin says: “No.1 Deansgate is the ideal location for our first Manchester-based Fitness Space.
“We believe in offering a supportive, friendly environment where people can train in state-of-the-art facilities and are looking forward to rolling out the concept at No.1 Deansgate.”
Harry Skinner, associate director at Avison Young which finalised the lease on behalf of Millerbrook Properties, adds: “We are delighted to complete this transaction which will finally make good use of this vacant space.
“The concept will work well in the Manchester market and is a great addition to the building.”
Fitness Space is represented by Time Retail Partners.
