Aspiring business people can try trading on a stall for free next week as a Young Entrepreneur Market launches in Knowsley.
Market operator Groupe Geraud’s management team will also provide expert guidance to participants during the six-day event at Prescot Shopping Centre.
From 13-18 February, the company will offer local people who are considering setting up their own venture with a chance to run their own market stall, learn from each other and interact directly with customers for the first time.
The initiative follows Groupe Geraud’s partnership with the Young Enterprise Company Programme in other parts of the country last December and is, in turn, expected to offer shoppers the chance to pick up unique items such as jewellery and clothes to candles and crafts throughout the week.
Lee Holt, regional operations manager at Groupe Geraud, says: “It’s important for us to encourage the next generation of traders and at the same time give back to the local community.
“The Young Entrepreneur Market is an excellent way to offer our support and expertise to people considering switching careers and setting up a business of their own.
“It’s a no-risk opportunity for them, giving people a taste of selling to real customers in an established location.”
