Eric Wright Facilities Management (EWFM) will service fire stations across the North West under a new 18-year contract.
The Preston-based firm has been appointed as a subcontractor by ENGIE Services Limited and Balfour Beatty under the partnership’s PFI (private finance initiative) arrangement in its “largest contract to date”.
Stations across Merseyside which have been designed, built, financed and operated by Balfour Beatty Investments will be looked after as part of the contract, along with sites around Lancashire and Cumbria.
Service desk operation, statutory compliance, planned and reactive maintenance, energy management, grounds maintenance, vending, cleaning and janitorial services will be among those carried out.
Under TUPE regulations, the Eric Wright team has also transferred seven team members including a technical services supervisor, engineers and caretaker from ENGIE into EWFM as well as 18 staff to cleaning sub-contractor Future Cleaning Services.
Kate Bailey, senior business development manager for EWFM, says providing facilities management to the emergency services, education and healthcare markets is a “significant future growth area for the business”.
She adds: “To be appointed on our largest contract to date in this area over an 18-year period is testament to the knowledge and skills we have in our team.”
