The final additions to the Blue Skies speaker programme at next month’s International Festival for Business (IFB2016) have been announced.
Standout names added to the list for the three-week Liverpool event include chief executive of WPP, Sir Martin Sorrell and ex-CEO of Tesco and now chairman of B&M retail, Sir Terry Leahy (pictured).
Sorrell and Leahy head up 10 high profile speakers who will join the already confirmed former South African president FW De Klerk, commercial secretary to the Treasury Lord O’Neill of Gatley and Severn Trent CEO Liv Garfield.
Douglas Flint CBE, Lady Barbara Judge, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Andy Palmer, Dr Angela Strank, Lord Charles Powell and Graeme Hackland have also been added to the line-up.
Sir Terry Leahy, says: “IFB2016 will not only offer a superb showcase of the best in British business, but also provide a perfect platform for businesses to connect from across the globe.
“I greatly look forward to witnessing the start of the transformative relationships established at this summer’s festival.”
Dr Angela Strank, head of downstream technology and chief scientist BP, adds “At the heart of one of Britain’s most important cities, the IFB2016 will provides a truly global audience to bring together the best business Britain has to offer. I look forward to discussing my role in the technology development at BP at IFB2016.”
Further to the high profile Blue Skies speakers, the programme also includes a wider series of events that take in themes including manufacturing, Artificial intelligence (AI), the creative industries and the business of football.
IFB2016, which is expected to attract between 25,000 and 30,000 delegates from the across the world, runs from 13 June – 1 July.
