Liverpool’s The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen sold to expanding leisure operator

Expanding bar, restaurant and music venue operator Mission Mars has purchased Liverpool city centre’s The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen.

The restaurant, which occupies the ground and lower ground floors of the Grade II-listed Casartelli Building, will become the chain’s twelfth venue across Manchester and Liverpool.

Purchasing the venture from Liverpool restaurant operator Bistro Qui?, the new owner is also behind brands including pizza purveyor Rudy’s, which recently opened an eatery on Castle Street in the city.

Mark Friend, owner of Bistro Qui? which sold The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen on a leasehold basis off an asking price of £750,000, says: “We wish the new owners every success with The Hub Alehouse & Kitchen and we are sure they can take this site to a new level that will please the existing team and the clientele alike.”

The firm sold the 170-cover gastropub-style restaurant, which is located at the junction of Duke Street and Hanover Street, as part of a portfolio rationalisation.

Tom O’Malley, senior business agent at Christie & Co which handled the sale, adds: “We’re delighted to have brokered an agreement with Mission Mars and we’re confident that the business will prove to be a successful addition to their growing portfolio.

“This deal stands as testament to the demand for high quality bars and restaurants in key city centres throughout the North West, as well as to the appetite of both regional and national purchasers.”
