An “increased interest” in Liverpool has prompted Bruntwood to put The Plaza up for sale, the company has confirmed.
The landmark office building on Old Hall Street in Liverpool’s commercial district was purchased by the property firm in 2003, and refurbishment was carried out to create a new reception, business lounge, parking and bike storage and shower facilities.
The owner has now confirmed the building is on the market amid reports it is being offered for a £57.5 million price tag.
Colin Forshaw, head of property for Bruntwood in Liverpool, says: “Since Bruntwood purchased The Plaza in 2003, we have made significant investments to create a landmark office destination in the commercial district that continues to attract many of the city’s major corporate and professional services businesses, as well as international occupiers.
“Given this and the present positive climate in the UK property market as well as increased interest in Liverpool, we have decided to take the building to market.
“We remain fully committed to Liverpool City Region and see this as providing us with an opportunity to invest further in the future.”
