The building of a new four-storey office development at Liverpool’s Kings Dock could be about to move a step closer.
Wirral-based business The Contact Company alongside Liverpool City Council and YPG wants to build the new workspace on land at Monarchs Quay.
Plans for The Contact Company’s new office have been recommended for approval by the council’s planning committee next week (19 December).
The proposed development will include 45,000 sq ft of office space with a café on the ground floor as well as the delivery of new public realm adjacent to the Queens Dock.
The office would represent the first phase of a major mixed-use development which would create a new leisure, commercial and retail destination at Kings Dock.
Application number two will be for full planning permission for an ‘interpretation centre’, car park with ground floor retail and apartment block.
Meanwhile application number three will be outline permission for an ice rink, bowling alley including restaurants and bars, apartment blocks and a hotel.
According to the planning report, nearby ACC Liverpool, which includes Echo Arena Liverpool and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, broadly supports the first phase of the Monarchs Quay development but has “concerns regarding the remainder of the site development in later phases”.
