Two new restaurants are being lined up for a vacant unit in the Liverpool ONE retail and leisure district.
Plans have been revealed to divide the former Red Hot World Buffet site on Paradise Street into two venues with Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito Restaurants proposed as the occupiers.
Italian chain Frankie & Benny’s already has a number of branches in and around Merseyside, including outlets in Aintree, Kirkby, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Wirral and Ellesmere Port.
If the plans receive the green light, Mexican eatery Chiquito Restaurants will open its first Liverpool branch, although the chain has sites nearby in Chester, New Brighton and Ellesmere Port.
A statement issued to Liverpool City Council: “The unit shall be split into two units to accommodate both Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito Restaurants.
“The proposal includes minor alterations to the existing shopfront, in the form of a new set of entrance doors to the Chiquito restaurant as well as a new black spandral glass panel to cover the new internal wall splitting the two units.”
Red Hot World Buffet closed its doors permanently last summer after the company behind it went into administration.
