A Scottish bar firm has scrapped plans to open in the former Cabin Club at the top of Bold Street.
Bar Soba was in the process of transforming the famous nightspot into a three-floor bar and street food restaurant.
Planning permission for the redevelopment was granted last August 2017, with enabling works starting the following month.
Significant improvements have been made to the Havelock Building, however Bar Soba has now decided not to move ahead with its planned opening.
A spokesperson for the bar chain has told YM Liverpool: “Bar Soba is no longer proceeding with the venue on Bold Street.
“However, Liverpool is still very much on our expansion agenda.”
Red & Blue Restaurants, the group behind Hanover Street Social and Salt House Bacaro, had previously proposed a £700,000 refurbishment of the popular nightclub, which closed in 2015.
