TSB is to open a new flagship branch in Liverpool city centre later this year, it has been revealed.
The £2 million investment coincides with planned improvements to the bank’s Old Swan, Bootle and Garston branches.
TSB confirmed to Move Commercial that the city centre bank will be located across two units at 81-83 Lord Street – next door to the extensive H&M store which opened in the old BHS building last year.
According to a planning application submitted to Liverpool City Council, the opening will create 10 full-time and five part-time positions.
The TSB on County Road in Walton was officially closed last Friday (26 April) with no job losses.
A spokesman told Move Commercial: “We’re delighted to be opening a brand new flagship branch in Liverpool city centre later this year, ideally placed where many of our customers work and shop.
“On top of this approximate £2m investment, we will also be investing in our Old Swan, Bootle and Garston branches.
“We see Liverpool as an area of growth for TSB and in addition to our branch network, we are also looking to expand our commercial business in order to bring more competition to the SME banking sector.”
