The first commercial tenants have signed up for space at Manchester’s University Green development.
The site, which forms part of the University of Manchester‘s £1 billion campus masterplan, will eventually bring 40,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space across 12 units to the Corridor Manchester area.
Book seller Blackwell’s has secured a 6,300 sq ft unit, Pret A Manger a 2,500 sq ft space and artisan coffee house Takk will open a 1,500 sq ft café at the location.
All three tenants will open their new premises in summer 2018, shortly after the Bruntwood scheme is due to be completed.
Toby Sproll, head of retail and leisure at Bruntwood, says: “We are thrilled to have secured such quality operators and retailers as part of the first wave of signings for University Green. Our focus is to create an exciting mix of retail and leisure for the significant population that study, work and live in Corridor Manchester.”
Metis Real Estate Advisors represented Bruntwood while the deals were negotiated, with SP Associates representing Blackwell’s.
